Scenes from my weekend {MIMM #1}

January 18, 2016

Here we are back at Monday, but that’s okay because I had a great weekend. I hope you all did too! Here’s a quick look!

It’s always fun when my Birchbox comes 🙂

Instead of my usual smoothie for breakfast I opted for wild salmon.

If you follow me on Instagram then you know my love affair with plantains. I’m not sure I will ever tire of them.

I could eat this for lunch every day and I do!

What was the best thing you ate this weekend?

Treat Yourself Tuesday #1

February 4, 2014

I am excited to join Becky in Treat Yourself Tuesday this week!

I had  a great time this weekend! We decided we wanted a little kid free time and wanted to just get away for the day. But before that got started I found some awesome boots at TJMaxx. They fit perfect, comfortable and very cute! I had to share! 🙂

After that J, myself and a friend decided to head out of town for the rest of the day Saturday! We dropped the girls off with the Grandparents and were on our way to Jacksonville!

Of course our first stop was Whole Foods, J and I had a few things we needed to restock.

One of the first things I saw when I walked in was some Kaleamole, I’m not sure how I have never thought about combining 2 of my favorite things Kale and Guacamole, how awesome and simple is that. So of course I picked up one!

Kaleamole

It was mid afternoon and  we were all getting a little munchy so we hit up the hot bar for a little snack to hold us over until our late dinner that we had planned. I love plantains so I got some of those and also decided the try the fireroasted eggplant. The eggplant was just okay but the plantains were delicious! I know the photo looks a little gross but trust me the plantains were fabulous!

After we were refueled we went over to the Town Center for a little shopping. They recently opened up a Nordstrom Rack which I love. Found some adorable little clothes for the girls.

Later that evening I did pick up a pair of modern skinny jeans from Loft that fit perfectly!

We had reservations that night at one of our favorite places to eat at in Jacksonville Beach, Roys! It’s an Hawaiian Fusion restaurant and they never disappoint. We started off our meal with an order of Lobster Potstickers with a Spicy Togarashi Miso Butter Sauce and Szechuan Spiced Pork Ribs that were smoked & glazed in Roy’s Original Mongolian Sauce. There are really no words to describe how awesome both of these apps are. The potstickers melt in your mouth and the ribs are so tender and that sauce is phenomenal! I snapped a quick picture but I didn’t use flash because I didn’t want to blind the people around me, so please forgive all the dark photos from the restaurant. 🙂

Lobster Potstickers and Ribs

For my entree I had the Seared Sea Scallops with a Potato Purée, Pork Belly, Fennel, Apple, and Honey Coriander Glaze. Before coming to Roy’s I would not touch a Sea Scallop but they have truly opened my eyes to how delicious they can be and they have quickly become one of my favorites to eat. Again sorry for the dark pic!

I usually do not get dessert or if I do J and I share but they had a Salted Caramel Bread Pudding that sounded too good to resist. I am all about anything Salted Caramel, but I was a little hesitant at first to order it simply because I am not a huge fan of bread pudding but I am so glad I did. It was seriously one of the best desserts I have had.

That wraps up this weeks Treat Yourself Tuesday!

Let’s Chat:

How have you “treated” yourself lately?

Do you usually order dessert when eating out?
