Thinking Out Loud #5

January 9, 2014

Hi guys, It’s Thursday my favorite blogging day thanks to Amanda and her Thinking Out Loud randomness!

thinking-out-loud (1)

Let’s get started…..

1. First off I’m proud of following through with one of my New Year goals.  I took a yoga class for the first time.  I have done yoga off and on a home for years and have always been curious about taking a class but it seems I always talk myself out of it.  I’ve only ever taken one other exercise class in my life I think basically because I find them a little intimidating at first and I second guess myself. So, in the end I choose to work out by myself at the gym or at home.  Taking the leap to go to a class felt good and I’m glad I did.  The instructor and everyone in the class was very welcoming. So, yay for new things!

Comfort zone

2. I’m also making an effort to focus a little more on myself. Finding ways to relax and regroup. Taking time to start each day with a devotional and ending (some) days with a nice relaxing bath! I’m also been taking a moment each night to reflect on my day and to write something a quick note about something good that happened that day. Check out Amanda’s Memory Chest Project if you haven’t already.

Happiness

3.  Drinking my coffee and tea out of this cute little mug can help brighten even the brightest of days!

4. Another thing that is making me happy this week is this family photo.  Finally a pic where we are all looking at the camera and smiling. A miracle people truly a miracle. 🙂

5. I’ve been thinking back to what my favorite purchases of 2013 were and hands down that goes to my Vitamix and Breville Juicer.  You know how you have some appliances that just take up space on your counter or cabinets, you bring them out one or two times a year maybe. ugh! That is not the case with my Vitamix and Juicer. I use them both daily. Almost every morning with a fresh juice and I usually make a green smoothie every afternoon and recently I have been using the Vitamix to help make soup.  Much love to both of these appliances!

My juice yesterday morning…

I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!

Do you have a favorite mug you drink your beverages from? and Does it make you just a little bit happier when you use them?

What have you done lately to step outside your comfort zone?

Thinking Out Loud #4

January 2, 2014

I love Amanda’s Thinking Out Loud linkup. So, here we go!

1. It’s January 2, and I am loving it! I am so excited for the start of a new year! New opportunities and possibilities.  Yay!

Also the weather here in Ga has been rainy lately and I am listening to rain as I write this today and I just love it.  I have no where I have to be this morning and listening to the peacefulness of the rain is a great way to start my day!

2. Speaking of peacefulness I have decided I want to become a yogi master, okay maybe not a master but I would like to greatly improve my yoga skills.  This is going to be one of the things I focus on this year!

3. and speaking of focus I have spent a little too much time making oreo truffles lately.  I am promising myself that this is my last batch for awhile. They are so addictive and not the least bit healthy, but man are they good!

4. Lily is still on Christmas break so we have been looking for fun creative things to do.  Here was our little project a couple of days ago.

5. Also a couple of weeks ago I taught myself how to do the fishtail braid. It looked intimidating but when I watched a tutorial on it I saw just how easy it really is!

6. As I’ve been writing this I’ve had a little buddy sitting by my side so I will keep this short today! My little sweetie says Hi! 🙂

Hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!

Thinking Out Loud #3

December 26, 2013

Thanks Amanda for hosting this day after Christmas Thinking Out Loud!

thinking-out-loud (1)

I woke up at 5am this morning and decided to go ahead and get up and savor some quiet time, just me, the Christmas tree and laptop of course! (along with some lemon water)

It’s so sad that Christmas has come and gone.  The month of January used to feel like such a bummer to me. It just really did not have a whole lot to offer after all the fantastic fun of November and December.  I don’t really dislike it as much as I used to, but still the day after Christmas is a little sad.  But to cheer me up I’ve decided that ……….

a total house organizational project is about to go into affect! The girls got so many things and it already feels overwhelming, everything needs a home and today we will be working on that.  We will start in the playroom and go from there.  I know this will take awhile because I plan on doing a very thorough job.  Some painting will even be going on in some areas of the house to spruce and change things up a bit!

I have several Christmas gifts I cannot wait to try out! My Clarisonic Mia 2! I currently have it charging up and I hope that it lives up to all the wonderful review I have read about it!

I received a bottle of Origins Ginger Gloss(it’s a smoothing body oil) and I tried it out yesterday and it felt and smelled so good!

I’ve had my eye on this Cookbook for months now and I cannot wait to try some of the recipes.  Love Gwyneth!

Also cannot wait to start this new devotional and planner for the new year!

These are a few of the things that I snapped pics of yesterday. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

What do you have planned for the day after Christmas?

Thinking Out Loud #2

December 19, 2013

Thanks Amanda for hosting the Thinking Out Loud linkup!

So here goes my Thursday randomness!

1. Bananas! I have recently discovered that organic bananas taste so so much better then regular bananas and they really do not cost that much more.  Seriously you can taste the difference. Try it you will not be sorry.

photo (16)

Now I just have to wait for these to get ripe!

2. My life would be so boring without Cholula. I can polish off a bottle in a week sometimes.
photo (18)
3. Speaking of things I cannot live with, AVOCADOS! Up until a few years ago I would not even touch them and now I make guacamole almost everyday. I truly believe that avocados go with everything! I’ve made some of the avocado truffles that I’ve seen around and they are delicious! I really need to make them again. Yum!
photo (19)
I know this picture might make them look kind of gross but I promise you it was delicious!
4. Speaking of things I love lets talk about Mindy Kaling! I would love to meet her. I know we would be BFF’s.  She is witty and fun, says what is on her mind and is always hilarious. Let’s be friends Mindy, please pretty please!

5. Speaking of fun…Cards Against Humanity, very excited to try out this new party game that my husband picked up… and it just so happens that we are going to a party tomorrow! Yay! Let the despicable fun begin 😉
