Magic Moments

June 30, 2013

Day 254 - Man of 1001 cards

Christophe Verdier via Compfight

This week I want to focus on those little magic moments that make life so special.  In our busy lives it is so easy to let these wonderful moments pass by without giving them a second thought.  This is really such a shame.  These are the moments that really matter.  If we slow down we can notice these sweet little moments. It might be taking a moment to watch the sunset or listening to my girls play we they don’t realize I’m around, looking out the window to watch a bird find a worm or a squirrel uncover a buried acorn. These are magical moments. These are the moments that we will look back on and remember.

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.
Robert Brault

I challenge you to take time out of your busy schedule to slow down and notice the magic moments in your life.

Love Yourself

June 16, 2013

This week’s intention is to Love Yourself! This is a big one for me. This should be easy to do right? Wrong!  This kind of goes along with Think Positive.  There are so many times each day that I beat myself up over things.  I should have done this, or why did I do that… or I say something and then instantly regret it. Aaaargh!!! I don’t think a day goes by that this doesn’t happen. I am going to forgive myself and Love Myself, and know that everything is going to be ok… even if I do mess up.

I challenge you to be your biggest fan this week… give yourself a hug, pat yourself on the back and LOVE yourself!

Balance

June 9, 2013

This week I plan to focus on bringing more balance to my life. Sometimes I get so caught up in something that I think I tend to take things overboard.  For example, I am a major researcher. I may read something online or in a book and if interests me (usually health related) I will spend hours and hours researching it and often this will lead me to researching something else that I have stumbled upon in my original research.  Which is all well and good unless you do not have endless time or if you a family or a job.

Problems arise in that one has to find a balance between what people need from you and what you need for yourself. Jessye Norman

Another thing I have noticed recently is that with two little ones there are many times my needs get pushed back to later, and by later I mean I never get back to them.  After awhile this really starts to bother me.  I need some “me” time. I believe this is so important and should be a priority.  I want to focus on turning this around.  I want to carve out a little time each day just for me.  I believe this will help be to be a better wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend.  So this not only benefits me but alot of other important people in my life.

What are you going to do this week to bring more balance in your life?

Be Patient

June 2, 2013

This week my intention is to be more Patient!  To go with the flow and not to get so upset over the little things that really in the scheme of life are not worth getting upset over anyway. Everyday brings new challenges and obstacles.  We must decide how we are going to react to them. We should be savoring all these special moments, even the bad ones, because all together these make up our life.  The good and the bad.  We all mess up and make mistakes, we are supposed to… we are not perfect and are not expected to be.  Learning to be patient through all of these times is a challenge.  Probably one of my greatest challenges.  I want to savor all of these little moments because I know in a blink of an eye they will be gone and I will be looking back wishing to have them all back…the good days and the bad ones too.  I’ve read this line many, many times… ”The days are long, but the years are short.”  This is so amazingly true and it always makes me stop and think.  It makes me slow down and appreciate my day just a little more and all the little moments in it.

Do you consider yourself a patient person?  Share any tips you may have for keeping cool in difficult situations.
