Favorite Skin and Beauty Buys for 2016

November 14, 2016

Since 2016 is quickly coming to an end I wanted to take a few minutes to document some of my favorite skincare and beauty buys. I really don’t like having an overly complicated routine and when I finally find something I love I tend to stick with it. I thought I would share some of these items with you guys. 🙂

R+CO Jackpot Styling Creme

rco-jackpot

I have tried so many hair products that promised beachy waves and I was always disappointed. Either they did nothing or left my hair crunchy and hard. Jackpot is AMAZING! After I wash my hair I just leave it wet and run about a quarter-sized amount of the creme through my hair. Then I usually just let it air dry or I will give it a quick 30 seconds blow out while I scrunch it. That’s it, beachy waves for days!

Laurel Whole Plant Organics Anti-Inflammatory Serum

Laurel serum

I have struggled for years to find a moisturizer that would work for my sensitive skin dry skin. I have been using this serum for the last several months and I love it. It provides the perfect amount of moisture and it smells fantastic. I love that it has anti-inflammatory properties, it’s very healing and also offers sun protection. It’s a little pricey but I love it so much that I’m okay with spending a little more! You can find it here.

Pacifica Perfume Roll-On

pacifica perfume

This past year I have been working on switching alot of the products I use on my skin everyday to more natural and organic options. I’ve never been fond of strong smelling perfumes but I would still use the more subtle ones. After taking a closer look I decided I wanted to look for a healthier option. I love Pacifica’s roll on perfumes they are 100% Vegan and Cruelty-free. These are totally affordable at $12.00 apiece. I use the Hawaiian Ruby Guava scent, which is a sexy and sultry tropical blend that combines sweet, berry-like notes of Guava with a bright, citrusy top note of Pomelo and a warm and subtle Coconut base.

W3LL People Mascara

I have been using their Expressionist Mascara in black for about a year now. W3ll People came on my radar as I was switching up my makeup to healthier more natural options. I love the way it looks on my lashes, it stays put and it doesn’t bother my sensitive eyes! Best of all it is 100% cruelty-free, petroleum-free, paraben free, gluten-free, coal tar-free, aluminum-free, fiber-free, and clump-free! If you want to check it out you can find it here.

Fairy Dust

fairydust

I usually don’t wear foundation but I do have days where I want to add a little color to my face. I love this product because I can use it as a highlighter and an eye shadow. It has actually replaced my bulky Urban Decay palette and has become my favorite eyeshadow. It looks great for an everyday look or dressed up for a more dramatic night look, and it does not budge until I remove it. The minimalist in me just loves this product. It has the most beautiful soft champagne shimmer. I am very fair skinned and it works great for me. I’ve also used it on my collarbone to add a subtle shimmer and I still want to play around with mixing it will my lip gloss. You can find Fairy Dust on Erinsfaces.com. I’ve reached out to Erin by email and on Instagram and she always answers any questions I have right away. You can tell how much heart she puts into all of her products. I love supporting businesses like that. Also all of her products are Cruelty-free!

*This post is not sponsored in any way. I just really love these products and wanted to share!

It’s the Little Things!

December 17, 2013

So, I have been receiving a Birchbox for 9 months now and I still get just as excited as I did when I first started receiving them!  It’s kind of like a guilty pleasure that I don’t have to feel guilty about.  For $10 a month shipped, well you really cannot beat that.  I have been introduced to alot of great new to me products over the last 9 months and well I just love it.  🙂 Here’s a look into my box this month!

photo (7)

I received this box about a week ago and have tried all the products in it except one and I will be trying it out soon.  I know alot of people really dislike receiving the perfume samples in their boxes and in your BB profile you can mark whether or not you want to receive them but I actually love it! I have 4 or 5 samples that I have received over the last 9 months and I really enjoy them all.  I get bored when I buy a bottle of perfume.  It seems to last me forever and after a few months I am just sick of it.  Long story short the samples are perfect for me! 🙂 Also in this box was a highlighter.  I am new to using highlighters, but I am fun using it and really see the benefit of using it. Now I actually own 3  but they are all a little different  and I like them all.

To change the subject I did actually start wrapping some presents yesterday and hope to get a few more wrapped this afternoon.  About a week til Christmas! yay!  Also I saw this quote on FB this morning and well it is so so true! Life would really suck without Dreams!

October Birchbox

October 13, 2013

I was a slacker last month and I forgot to post September’s box, it was a good one too…. but it’s a new month and I just received by Box for October and it is another great one! Since I just received the box I have not had the chance to try most of the products but I have read up on them and I cannot wait to give them a try! If you looking for a inexpensive way to try alot of great high end products Birchbox is definitely the way to go. You really cannot beat it for only $10 a month. Here’s what is inside….

DDF Wrinkle Resist Plus Pore Minimizer Moisturizing Serum : This genre-bending serum uses a patented dual-phase technology to give skin double the benefits. Like a topnotch primer, it instantly hydrates skin, shrinks pores, and masks flaws. At the same time, the peptide-packed formula exfoliates and repairs skin cells for lasting anti-aging benefits.

the Balm cosmetics Stainiac : The tinted gel leaves a lasting stain on lips and cheeks. Since it’s water-based, it has a longer setting time than most quick-dry stains, which means it won’t leave any unsightly streaks behind as long as you take care to blend well. Use a single coat for a subtle look or layer it on for a more visible (yet still discreet) hue.

Shea Terra Organics Rose Hips Black Soap Deep Pore Facial Cleanser : This all-natural face wash and mask combines real African black soap— prized by women around the world for its abilities to battle blemishes and the signs of skin aging—with rejuvenating rose hips oil to leave your face clean and refreshed. Plus, its 100% natural, fragrance-free formula makes it gentle enough for those with sensitive skin.

Alison Raffaele Reality Base Foundation : Its weightless, oil-free formula is designed to look completely natural on skin, providing medium coverage and leaving your face silky-smooth. The foundation contains the protective and restorative Frutta di VitaTM antioxidant complex, a brand signature ingredient.

Chapstick Hydration Lock : Clinically proven to hydrate lips, the eight-hour balm also comes packed with antioxidant CoQ10 and healing vitamin E.

August Birchbox

August 26, 2013

This might just be my favorite box so far!  I have tried almost all the products in it and love all of them!

Here’s the low down:

Harvey Prince Eau Flirt – Lavender Pumpkin : This sweetly mischievous fragrance channels our inner girly girl with a combination of fresh florals and warm spices. You’ll want to pair this one with your most confident outfit.

Juice Beauty Oil-Free Moisturizer : Nine times out of ten, moisturizers list water as one of their main ingredients. Juice Beauty’s oil-free hydrator is a standout exception to the rule. Their active-packed formula is made with a powerful base of organic juices so that every single drop feeds your skin. Full of antioxidants, it’s great for those with oily or blemish-prone skin since the lightweight formula won’t clog pores.

Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect : To keep our strands from a styling-induced meltdown, we’ve been using this extra hydrating leave-in conditioning mist. It doesn’t just protect hair from heat damage; it also doubles as a color protector and UV shield. The sulfate-free formula sinks in quickly and has a pretty floral scent thanks to white freesia, amber, and musk.

Tan Towel Self Tan Towelettes : Each box contains 10 individually wrapped wipes infused with dihydroxyacetone (DHA), a self-tanning agent that reacts with proteins and amino acids in your skin. Each 7-by-9-inch towelette is big enough to evenly coat about half your body. Bonus: The citrus-scented wipes, formulated for fair to medium tan color, exfoliate and moisturize as they transform your skin from translucent to tan-talizing.

Coastal Scents Neutral Mirage Palette Set : This compact palette and brush set from Coastal Scents contains no fewer than 88 unique eye shadow shades. Break out the color wheel, because you’ll feel the urge to experiment with some daring new combos. Inspired by the sandy dunes and vibrant skies of the Sahara Desert, there’s a hue to match every color on your mood ring (and then some).

I have tried all of these products except for the oil-free moisturizer and I have loved all of them!  I can’t wait to try the moisturizer soon. It was a fun box to get!
