5 Things Making Me Happy #7

December 12, 2014

Is it just me or was this week a blur to any one else? It’s been one of those busy, but really nice weeks. I got a lot accomplished and that feels good! This time of year is just fun! People in general seem to be in better moods, everything is so festive. We can spend our evenings riding around looking at Christmas lights and making Gingerbread houses…the song got it right, It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year for sure! Now on to what has been making me happy this week….

1. Harmless Harvest Coconut Water

Harmless Harvest Coconut Water

Coconut water is new to me and before I buy and try anything new I like to thoroughly research it. If I am going to consume it then I want to make a healthy, informed decision. Not all coconut water is made equal. Many of the ones you will find in the store have been heated (therefore killing all the wonderful nutrients) and have a shelf life of years. Not good! After doing some digging around I found that Harmless Harvest was the way to go. It’s organic, nothing added, nothing taken away and it tastes amazing! I’m super excited that my local grocery store carries it!

2. This Raspberry Kombucha smoothie!

It’s like drinking a dessert for breakfast but it’s actually good for you! Be sure and make the coconut whip cream, it is amazing!

3. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

NationalLampoonsChristmasVacationPoster

Can you believe up until a few years ago I had never watched it. Jim was in shock, it’s his favorite….we look forward to it each year now! ๐Ÿ™‚

4. This Peppermint Sugar Scrub!

I came across it while reading Melissa’s blog. I have been wanting to make my own coconut scrub for awhile and I was so excited when I saw this one because I had all the ingredients to make it. If you have 2 minutes and the 3 ingredients you can make it! I made it a couple of days ago and it is wonderful!

Here’s mine—

5. Date Day during the week!

Southern Soul

Southern Soul BBQ

This is something that is rare, but when it does happen it is a nice break from the usually day to day stuff. This time we headed kid free over to St. Simon’s Island to eat some awesome BBQ and do some Christmas shopping! We were back from our little trip in time to pick Lily up from school and a big thanks to Granny Faye for keeping Emma! We may have surprised the girls with these! ๐Ÿ™‚

5 Things Making Me Happy #6

December 5, 2014

Can you believe that we have already made it through the first week of December! I really need it to slow down. November and December are definitely my 2 favorite months, filled with excitement, family, and friends! It is a great time to reflect on all the wonderful people and things we have in our life. I have no shortage of things making me happy this week!

1. Afternoon walks in December with temperatures in the 70’s!

In the winter months I definitely appreciate living in the South! I’m not sure I could handle freezing temps and snow for weeks or months at a time.

2. Hanging out with Santa and enjoying having the trees and decorations up!

My few minutes of morning quiet time is just that much nicer with the glow of the lights on the Christmas tree! I’ve decided for the month of the December to wake up 15 minutes earlier in the morning than I usually do so I have a little extra time to soak it all in! ๐Ÿ™‚

3. These itty bitty Crimson Gold Apples!

I mean how cute are these!?! They taste delicious too!

4. These Oreo truffles!

It’s probably a good thing I only make these around the holidays because they are seriously ADDICTIVE!

5. The Piano Guys

I have been listening to their albums almost non stop this week. When I’m out running, getting dressed in the mornings, cooking, you name it!

I hope you all are having a wonderful week! Name one thing that made you smile this week?

5 Things Making Me Happy! #5

November 28, 2014

Nothing makes me happier than buying gifts for other people. I keep lists all year long of things that I hear my friends and family mention that they like so that I can surprise them with it later on! Often times I am at a loss when I’m asked what do you want for Christmas….I mean I know that there are things that I’ve seen while browsing online or out shopping, but unless I make an effort to write it down or snap a picture then I’ll probably forget all about it! So this year I am making a Wish List!

Christmas-Wishlist

1. Oakley Active Sunglasses

2. Absolutely Avocados

Avocados are apart of my life EVERY. SINGLE. DAY! If I had to pick just one food to eat it this is what it would probably be. So an entire book about them sounds fabulous to me!

3.  Fabletics

I cannot wait to try out some of their activewear so a GC to here would be perfect! I love all the styles and all the bright fun colors!

4. Veggetti

5. This Black Heart Traveler Mug from Starbucks

5 Things Making Me Happy! #4

November 14, 2014

It’s been a good week! The weather has been so nice. In the 70’s as highs, just right for having fun outside. Runs in the mornings, afternoon walks with Jim and Emma while snacking on apples. I have been seeing so many people in the blog world and “real” world putting out Christmas decorations and I am getting so tempted to pull ours out! I usually wait until the week of Thanksgiving, we’ll see if I hold out that long this year. Should be another fun weekend. I’m doing the Turkey Run (5k) Saturday morning and Lily is signed up for the 1 mile Fun Run! This will be her second fun run and she is so excited!

And now on to a few things that made this week fun!

1. These Healthy Rice Crispy Treats

Rice Crispy Treats

I got the recipe here! No marshmallows and no butter. The recipes uses honey (or brown rice syrup) I used honey, and coconut oil in their place. I also added some Enjoy Life chocolate chips. They are really good, just sweet enough and you really do not miss the marshmallows. They hold together just like the original version. They have a honey taste and are delicious!

2. This song from Imagine Dragons!

3. Birchbox!

Have I mentioned before how much I love Birchbox <——referral link! ๐Ÿ™‚ Because I do! It is definitely a fun little treat each month. Last month was another great box, one thing that really stuck out from last months box was this all in one hair product.

20141111_140906

I will admit I was skeptical at first and was totally expecting not to like it, but I am in love with it. First thing is that it was a very generous sample. I have used it twice a week for 3 weeks and I still have some left. Second, it’s like a mousse, you wash your hair with it and cleans, conditions, detangles, and leaves your hair looking, feeling, and smelling amazing! It doesn’t leave your hair greasy just healthy and looking great! I was a little put off with the price of $33 at first until I realized that it’s not bad at all when you take into account that it is replacing so many products! I get excited when I find products that actually do what they say they will do! ๐Ÿ™‚

4. These Honey Roasted Pumpkin Seeds!

PumpkinSeeds-18

I seriously cannot get enough of these. I just used my last pumpkin and roasted up another batch of these! They satisfy my sweet and salty craving all at once.

5. Holiday Bucket List

I am a planner and I love to be organize. I’m starting on my Holiday Bucket List! This time of year always go by so fast and there are certain things I want to make sure we all get to do. Getting started on this makes me smile! I found this free printable to help out!
