Friday’s Favorites

May 23, 2014

Hi guys! This month has been such a whirlwind with everything wrapping up for the end of the school year. Now we are getting ready to head out and spend the summer in SC and I can’t wait, but first let’s start with a few things that I am loving lately!

1. I know I have talked many times about my love for all things ginger. So, when I spotted this Orange Ginger Sorbet Soap at Target, I knew it would be coming home with me. It is part of their summer collection. The smell is amazing, I may need to stock up!

2. I love Birchbox and one of my favorite finds from May’s box is this Pixi Lip Balm, the shade is Pixi Pink. When I first saw the shade I thought it would be too pink for me, but when I tried it on I discovered that it covers  sheer with a nice pink tint and it feels great and last a long time. Alot longer than most lip balms that I have tried.

3. I just got finished reading one of Jen Hatmaker’s books 7:An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess. 7 is the true story of how Jen (along with her husband and her children to varying degrees) took seven months, identified seven areas of excess, and made seven simple choices to fight back against the modern-day diseases of greed, materialism, and overindulgence. It was a thought provoking, moving book with lots of humor throughout.  By the end of the book I felt as though Jen I were friends! It was a great read and I would recommend it to any one that might be interested in challenging the way they think or are living.

4.  Water taste so much better in a glass water bottle made by Takeya. I bought this water bottle about 2 weeks ago and I have used it everyday since. It keeps the water so much cooler. Jim liked mine so much he had to get one too!

5. I will leave you today with a song I’ve been enjoying…

Any fun weekend plans? New song recommendations? What book are you reading? I love adding books to my “read” list!
